Sustainable with hydropower: SILLPARK Innsbruck is a shopping center with its own hydroelectric power plant, which was extensively renovated in 2015. In spring 2017, SILLPARK opened an innovative fish ladder that makes the Sill passable for fish swimming in both directions.
The hydropower plant supplies 4 kWh of electricity per year, covering almost half of the center’s total electricity demand. Beyond the hydroelectric plant, SILLPARK is at the ecological forefront in other areas, too: Located in the center of Innsbruck, SILLPARK has excellent transport infrastructure and is directly connected to the bus and tram network. In addition, the center has a charging station for electric vehicles, a bicycle service center, and two bicycle-rental stations in cooperation with the city.
