Definition of cookies

Cookies are small, erasable text files stored on the User’s computer, and they permit personalisation of the content provided on our website. They are downloaded by the User’s browser during his or her first visit to our website. When our website is accessed again using the same terminal, device or browser, the cookie and the information stored in it will either be sent back to the website that generated it (first party cookie) or sent to another website to which it belongs (third party cookie). This is how the cookie detects that the browser in question was used to access the website and through this status it changes the way in which content is displayed. Cookies “remember”, for example, the preferences of Users, and they indicate how a User uses a page, and partially tailor the displayed content to the User’s individual preferences.

Cookies required for functionality

For purposes of performing transmission of messages and providing the services requested by the User, we use the cookies referenced below. Our data processing activities carried out through the use of cookies are based on our legitimate interests in providing a fully functional website and the services requested by Users, as well as our legitimate interest in constantly improving the content of our website and adapting it to the need of Users (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, sec. 165 (3) Austrian Telecommunications Act [TKG]).

Cookies that are functionally not required

For purposes of improving our services and our website, to increase user-friendliness, to personalise our services for Users of the website by temporary storage of search parameters and for online marketing purposes, we use the cookies listed below. The data processing activities carried out through the use of the cookies are based on the explicit consent of Users (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, sec. 165 (3) TKG).

Website visitors under the age of 14 are requested to obtain the consent of a parent or a guardian before sending us data via our website. Without such consent, they are not permitted to provide any data. However, if we receive data from persons under the age of 14, we will stop processing such data as soon as we become aware of it.

Purpose and scope of data processing

To design our website in line with the requirements of Users, we create pseudonymous user profiles with the help of Google Analytics. Google Analytics uses targeting cookies that are stored on your end device and can be read by us. In this way we are able to recognise returning visitors and count them as such and find out how often our website pages have been accessed by different Users.

Legal basis

The data processing is based on consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR.

The information generated by the cookie regarding your use of our website is usually transferred to a Google server in the United States and stored there. However, since we have activated IP anonymisation on our website, your IP address will first be truncated by Google within Member States of the European Union. Only in exceptional cases will your full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the United States and only truncated there.

Google LLC processes this data and uses it to create profiles and links to Google accounts. For more information on how Google processes your data, please visit
